Many ex-addicts find that they need to fill the void of not using. Getting fit can be a great way to get away from your current lifestyle and back into an active one. Plus, one of the best ways to get sober is to find friends that aren’t associated with your addiction. Joining a sports team or group for sober living is a great way to make new friends!

Ex-addicts need hope. That hope can be found in daily activity. When you participate in sports, your outlook on life changes. You start to master your activity and advance. Thus you start to realize you can succeed in anything if you put your mind to it. Living sober will be a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be dull or boring.
Exercise For A Clean Mind & Body
Exercise can help give you focus. Mental focus keeps your mind clean along with your body. Instead of focusing on the fact that your daily living will and can often turn into a struggle, you can focus your daily life on sport or group activities. You’ll start to surround yourself with people who are focused on getting up and going for a run a six a.m. rather than staying up until six a.m. using.
Sober Support Communities
Addiction hits hard. One of the newest ways to fight that addiction daily is to join a sober support community. These groups turn toward sport to support one another in staying clean and keeping it fun. One such group for active ex-addicts is the Phoenix Multisport. They believe, “Life should be better once you get sober. We want to help people build a new life, a new self-image and have fun without getting high."
